Each life lost was precious to the Father. Each life mattered. The Swords of Iron Memorial Grove serves as a reminder of hope and an encouragement to their families and Israel.
Mafel, 26, is survived by her parents, brother, and sister, Maayan. Her sister, Maayan, mourns. She writes, “When will you come back? My body refuses to let go of the cascade of pain. I want to stand between you and the bullet that took your life.” May Mafel’s memory be a blessing, and may Maayan have hope.
Silvia, 59, is survived by her daughter, Eden, and her brothers and sisters. Eden writes, “A huge hole is open in my heart. When I was little, I told you I chose you as my mom, and I think about how true that is. If I had a chance to choose you, again and again, I would. With all the difficulties in the world, you knew how to take the good things and turn them into a whole world.” May Siliva’s memory be a blessing, and may Eden have hope.
Aden Abdulayev, 23, is survived by her mother and two sisters, Sharon and Gila. Sharon writes, “Aden, our little sister, the light and air for our breathing. For the first time in my life, I couldn’t help you. Your name has meaning. It means good and calm, like heaven.” May Aden’s memory be a blessing, and may Sharon have hope.
Dor, 24, is survived by his parents, sister, and brother. His mother, Aviv, writes, “Dor, a boy who is an angel. They always say that children are special, but Dor was truly something special. A true hero, never afraid. He always brought calm and light wherever he entered. He always helped and cared for everyone. My heart is broken. May your memory be blessed.” May Dor’s memory be a blessing, and may Aviv find healing.
